Local Information

Drymen, located within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, has grown from a stopping place for drovers in the 17th Century and Rob Roy's family is reputed to have lived in the Clachan (which claims to be the oldest licensed Inn in Scotland!).

With Loch Lomond only 3 miles away, Drymen is now a popular stopping place for visitors to East Loch Lomond, where the road meanders 14 miles along the shore to Rowardennan. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city is 17 miles from Drymen, and Stirling is 22 miles away; both are approximately a 40-minute drive.

Amenities

Drymen is well-endowed with local shops and amenities, including:

  • Drymen Village Shop and Post Office- excellent sandwiches and hot coffee cans.
